This week, we recognized Jesus as a real person, who walked on this earth over 2,000 years ago. He was born, grew up, lived, worked and loved others in a place called Israel. We pinpointed three important cities in this land:
Nazareth: Where the angel Gabriel came to Mary and told her she was going to have a baby.
Bethlehem: The little town where Jesus was born.
Jerusalem: The city where Jesus died and rose again.
We also studied the different regions that these key towns/cities are located in because they are mentioned several times in Scripture. This roots the stories and travels of Jesus in an actual place, time, and history.
Questions to Ponder with your Child:
Have I ever wondered about the place where Jesus lived? How do you think that may change or develop you understanding of Him?
Have your child pull out the map they created on Sunday. Explore the different regions and look up any places you may not know.
